Frequently asked Questions

FAQs

  • What is your adoption process?

If the process starts at an in-person event, we will have you fill out an application on the spot for the kitten/kittens you are interested in. We will approve or deny the application on the spot based on what's in the best interest of the animal. If approved, payment must be made before you leave the event. However, the kittens do not leave straight from the event. We will arrange for one of our volunteers to do a home delivery after the event.

If you see a kitten on our social media or website, please submit an application for the kitten you are interested in. We will recieve the application and will schedule a meet and greet before we process the adoption and payment. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to review and make our decision on each application. Then once a match is made, we will arrange for one of our volunteers to do a home delivery.

  • Why can I not visit my potential adopter while they are on 14 day isolation?

We have a very strict initial isolation policy to protect babies new to the rescue as well as those already in care. 2 weeks is the approximately incubation time for most feline illnesses. With this iso period, we ensure that the vaccinations given take affect and that no illnesses spread with our foster homes. But once the 2 weeks is up, visit away!

  • How much is the adoption fee?

Most adoption fees for kittens are $65. This helps us provide 4 sets of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip each kitten before they go to their furever homes.

Occasionally we will run specials depending on the time of year. Please watch our website and social media platforms for those deals.

Please note that all payments made to Pawsitivity Rescue Inc. are non refundable in the event you return a kittens

  • Do I need to pay a deposit?

We have instituted a new policy at Pawsitivity that requires a $25 deposit for us to hold a specific kitten for you. This is cover the time we remove the animal from the website if you change your mind.

  • What happens if I change my mind? do I get my deposit back?

    All deposits are non refundable.

  • What happens if I can't keep the animal I adopted and need to return it?

When you complete an adoption with Pawsitivity Rescue Inc. you enter into a contract. That contract specifically states that if you cannot keep the animal it must come back to us.

You will need to go on our website and fill out a surrender form and then contact us to return the animal.

  • Why are the only a few animals on available for adoption on your website?

We do not release any animal until their isolation period is over. There are too many unknowns during this time and we do not want to prematurely put animals up for adoption that we can't be sure aren't sick.

  • Does anyone from your staff get paid?

No, all of our board members and fosters are 100% volunteer only.

  • Where does all the money go from adoption fee?

All monies received for adoptions go right back into feeding, vetting, vaccinating, spay/neutering, and microchipping the next group of kittens.
