Pawsitivity Pet Food Pantry

Welcome to the Pawsitivity Pet Food Pantry!

We at Pawsitivity Rescue Inc. saw a need in the community and sought to rectify it. When you, as a pet owner fall on hard times, we want to be there to give you a hand in caring for your companions.

With limited resources we want to be able to help as many families as possible, but keep in mind all food and products for the Pantry are donations from the community,  and gracious businesses such as Grocery Outlet and Walmart. This means that we may not have your specific brand of pet food, there will be limits on requests and that we will need to portion out servings so that larger donations can be utilized to the best of our abilities. Please know we at Pawsitivity will handle all food and products safely and in a sanitary manner and it will be distributed in clean safe packaging.

We are excited to be able to help the community in this way and we want to thank all who make this possible!

How our pantry works:

It important to note that our pet food pantry is run entirely by volunteers and operates on an appointment-only basis. This ensures that we can effectively manage the distribution of pet food to those in need.

To utilize the Pantry, we ask that you visit the link specific to your need, as we provide an emergency pet food service as well as a community feral cat service. Fill out your information, details, and your need. One of our volunteers will contact you as soon as possible. With limited volunteers we want to be sure your need is met as soon as possible, so if for some reason we haven't contacted you within 24 hours of your request being submitted, please message us directly at 986-232-0155.

Our pick-up days for the pet food pantry vairy depending on volunteer's schedules. The specific time for pick-up will be based on the submission of your application. We understand that everyone's schedule is different, so we will do our best to accommodate your availability.

It's also important to emphasize that our pet food pantry is a free service provided to those in need. However, we rely solely on donated food, which means we cannot guarantee any specific brand or item or fulfillment. The availability of food will depend on the donations we receive.

To ensure fairness and equal distribution, we have implemented a few rules. Firstly, individuals can only use our pet food pantry once a month. This allows us to serve as many people as possible. Additionally, only one type of request can be submitted a month. Unfortunately, due to our small size and limited donations we can not support pet and feral submissions in the same household.

If an application is incomplete or missing information, it may cause a delay in processing. We kindly ask that you provide all the necessary details to avoid any delays.

It's important to note that our pet food pantry is meant to be a holdover, not the primary source of feeding your pets. We encourage pet owners to explore other resources and options to ensure their pets are adequately fed.

Lastly, we have a strict policy regarding no call, no show appointments. If you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment without notifying us, it will be considered a first offense. In such cases, your access to the pet food pantry will be suspended for one month. If a second offense occurs, you will be permanently banned from using our service.

These rules of engagement are in place to ensure fairness, efficiency, and the effective distribution of pet food to those in need. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines.

Feral Cats

A feral cat is an unsocialized outdoor cat who has either never had any physical contact with humans or human contact has diminished over enough time that she is no longer acclimated to it. Most feral cats are fearful of people. They are happiest outdoors and belong in that environment. The best thing to do for feral cats is to trap them, spay or neuter them and then return them back to where you trapped them

Trap Neuter Return (TNR) is the most humane way to handle a feral cat problem as it prevents them from reproducing. If the cat has a tipped ear, it means that it has already been spayed or neutered.

Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Programs

TNR is successfully practiced in hundreds of communities. Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, ear tipped. The ear tip indicates to others that the cat has already been fixed. After recovery, the cats are returned to their colony outdoors. TNR stops the breeding cycle of cats and therefore improves their lives while preventing reproduction. TNR provides a lifesaving, effective solution for community cats.
